Food was amazing! Got the tlayuda and masa pancakes. Delicious crunchy tortilla with so many delicious flavors and the perfect amount of cheese. Highly recommend this one, especially for parties of 2 or more, because it was fun to share. The masa pancakes were delicious too, but the tlayuda stole the show!

Doves has quickly become my go-to spot. It's one of those places that just feels like home. Nothing beats their burnt ends hash and the chicken fried chicken is a total winner too. This little diner puts a whole lot of soul in their dishes. Have to mention the great mezcal selection. Only downside is the space is very small, and their is typically a wait.

Long lines, full bellies, exceptional food. Make sure you either arrive nice and early or budget your time, because the waits can be quite long. However, the hype is very real. Cozy setting with an electric vibe halfway between a high volume diner and a busy high end restaurant. Portions are incredibly large and the flavors are our do this world. I got the crispy chicken sandwich and was full for a week. Can't wait to come back.

Truly my favorite breakfast spot in Chicago. The atmosphere is cozy and vibrant. The service is quick and efficient. You must try the Pork Belly Scramble. 10/10!

I was in Wicker Park and was looking to grab something for breakfast and so glad that I stopped in! I grabbed a seat by the window but then ended up moving towards the bar counter since I was cold. I ordered the brisket hash which was brisket burnt ends, crispy potatoes, chipotle aioli, queso fresco, peppers, two sunnyside up eggs and fluffy thick Texas toast. The bartender told me to try the house made spicy chili oil and it definitely added more flavor to the already flavorful hash. Perfect breakfast meal and I even had leftovers to enjoy it a second time.

I visited Dove's on a Tuesday morning while in search of a sit-down breakfast to avoid the cold drizzle outside. As a party of 2, we were sat immediately. The ambiance and food is diner meets your inclusive abuelita's home. While the aesthetic and service was fantastic, the real star was the mexican takes on diner food. I got the brisket hash, which was fantastic. Each bite had a perfect amount of juicy and crispy brisket. The hash comes with toast but in retorespect, I would've opted for some tortillas to make some delicious tacos. Would strongly recommend and be sure to use some of their chili oil and hot sauce. The brisket is decadent and the vinegar based hot sauce does a perfect job pairing with the richness of the brisket. This place reminded me of breakfasts I had growing up in a mexican american household. I can't wait to visit again as the entire menu looked great.

A retro diner with Mexican fusion dishes. The fried chicken and potato hashes are done quite well here. The portions are also generous and dishes are reasonably priced. Seating is communal and mainly consists of bar and window seating. You can expect to be sitting beside strangers. Interior is unique with retro features and they play music with vinyl records which is cute. The staff are friendly and are knowledgeable about the menu. They seem to be friends with the locals that come here.

Dove's brings a unique, lively Tex Mex flair to traditional diner food and vibes, and the service is excellent. The dishes are fresh, flavorful, and come out fast. It's kind of pricey, but the portions are large and filling and my group of 4 had some leftovers afterwards. Make a reservation if you can-- seating is limited and it gets quite busy for brunch especially on weekends. Food I tried: - Taco Norteno (4.2/5): The brisket in the taco was delicious, flavorful, and well-seasoned, but I wasn't a huge fan of the tortilla which felt too thick and dough-y for me. - Tlayuda (4.3/5): I enjoyed the crispiness of the tortilla and the freshness of the ingredients, though it could have used a bit more vibrant flavors. It was simultaneously light and filling. - Brisket Hash (4.4/5): Great flavors all around. The potatoes were crispy and well-sauced and the brisket was meaty and umami. - Masa Pancakes (4/5): Probably my least favorite out of everything we ordered, but I'm also just not the biggest fan of pancakes. The flavors here were just okay.

I love a good brunch and especially if they have good breakfast potatoes! My friend and I split the burnt ends hash and it filled both of us up! My other friend also really enjoyed the chicken fried chicken. No complaints here! We stopped by on a weekday so there was no wait but this spot gets pretty busy on the weekends so try to come early if you can. The service here was great and our server was very kind and thorough with the menu and gave us recommendations since it was our first time!
